Hands tired but steady as dawn finds the shore — they fold up the ledger and close every door. A stitch for the fallen, a stitch for the kin. The king's last breath folded into a vow; some threads kept, some made anew. The city breathes easier beneath a new sky, but what we cut will leave a stain.
